Temple History
From the Beginning
The Kailasa San Jose Nithyananda Vedic Temple, formally designated as San Jose - Madurai, was established under the divine guidance of SPH JGM HDH Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam as part of the global KAILASA temple network. The San Jose temple carries the spiritual legacy of Madurai, one of the most ancient and sacred temple cities of South India renowned for its Meenakshi Amman Temple.
The San Jose temple is uniquely blessed with the Gnanalaya - one of the largest libraries for Hinduism in the Bay Area, inaugurated personally by SPH Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam. This temple serves as a center for Vedic knowledge preservation and spiritual education, embodying the wisdom traditions of Sanatana Dharma.

All deities in the San Jose temple have received prana pratishtha directly from SPH Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam, the Vedic science of infusing divine life energy into the deities. Through this sacred process, the devatas become living, breathing entities that radiate superconscious energy to all seekers.
The temple follows authentic South Indian Shaivite traditions, observing rituals laid out in the Shiva Agamas under the guidance of dedicated mahants, thanedars, and kotharis. It houses multiple deities of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, with all major Hindu festivals celebrated according to Vedic calendar.
The Temple
As San Jose - Madurai, this temple represents the spiritual energy of the ancient Madurai Aadheenam, carrying forward the enlightened legacy of one of Hinduism's oldest spiritual seats. The temple serves as a dharma kshetra (field of righteousness) for spiritual seekers in Silicon Valley and throughout Northern California.
This is a fully volunteer-run temple, with all religious ceremonies and temple upkeep being performed by dedicated volunteers and devotees of SPH JGM HDH Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam. The temple welcomes devotees and visitors for pujas, meditation, and Hindu religious services, serving as a beacon of enlightened consciousness in the heart of technology innovation.

The Inaugaration
The San Jose temple was formally inaugurated through a divine declaration by SPH Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam, who accepted 124 Naivedyams offered by the local community. This sacred establishment marked the beginning of a new spiritual ecosystem in Silicon Valley, connecting California's technological hub with ancient Vedic wisdom traditions.
The Deities
The temple hosts an array of energized deities that serve as living portals to various divine realms and consciousness states. Each deity functions as a direct conduit to Paramashiva's grace, capable of bestowing both material blessings and ultimate liberation upon sincere devotees who approach with pure intention.
The Temple Today
Currently, the San Jose temple operates as a vibrant spiritual hub where ancient rituals meet contemporary spiritual needs, serving professionals and families across the Bay Area. It stands as a testament to how authentic Vedic traditions can thrive and transform modern urban landscapes into sacred spaces for conscious evolution.
